My Bad

Getting used to using this blog and all the tools involved after a several year layoff  is cumbersome.  When I posted yesterday I hit the "post" button before I meant too and the result was an entry I had not proofread.  I will get my act together in the future. No, I don't have dementia, I'm not illiterate, and I'm not under the influence of  the legal pot in Washington State, justly rusty.

Restarting the blog this summer!

I have become very dissatisfied  with Facebook and their every more intrusive attitude toward privacy. That said, I am starting up our Blogsite again in time capture moments of the summer.  I plan on keeping a link on Facebook to this blog at least for the time being, making it easier for anyone interested to follow.
We are really looking forward to summer this year with more camping and fewer big trips than last summer.  Last July we did a four day weekend to Victoria, BC and the weather was extremely kind to us - 80 degrees plus every day.  We stayed at the classic Empress Hotel and brought our Sebring convertible with us to get around town. I would highly recommend that anyone who hasn't been to Victoria that you put it on your "bucket list" and include a trip to Buschart Gardens, which is also "must see".
The other big trip last year was our 40th Wedding Anniversary cruise on the Coral Princess.  It started   started in Vancouver, BC then cruised down the West Coast of the U.S., then Mexico, and Central America. Then we cruised thru the Panama Canal into the Caribbean, stopping at a couple of islands before ending 18 days later in Fort Lauderdale. Summary: the ship was beautiful, the balcony room was wonderful, the food was sensational and nonstop, and the weather perfect. Our first cruise was in 1986 and there have been too many changes to count - most for the better but not all.
Again this year we wintered in Palm Springs again, at Outdoor Resort (which has literally become our second home), from December to April.  It rained only two days during that entire time and the temps ran from the low 70s in December to the high 80's in March, but any day could be anywhere on that scale. It's a great way to enjoy then winter.  Especially watching the Seattle Seahawk's march to and thru the Super Bowl.
This summer we are camping at Belfair State Park on Puget Sound with the family, then Pacific Beach State Park on the ocean, and in mid August a week at Cannon Beach, OR again on the coast. We are thinking about cruising the Oregon Coast for a couple of weeks in September, depending on the weather.
This year we are planning on staying home for the holidays then leaving for Palm Spring after Xmas as we do miss the season here at home especially with the family.  Jan-Feb-Mar in the desert then in April drive to San Diego and spend a few weeks working our way up the coast, staying at the beaches
All along the way.  Hence the blog name "beachcruiser" and the license plate in the rig and Honda tow car (BCH CZR) and (LIL CZR).
I plan on posting every couple of weeks, with pix, if all goes well.  I am hoping this will replace not only my Facebook entries but my daily journal as well (which was way to mundane and time consuming).  If it seems lengthy at times - please keep in mind that it is also my journal also.
